Find My Storage ("we", "our", "us") operates the website findmystorage.co.uk. We are a UK-based self storage comparison site that helps users find and compare storage facilities.
2. Information We Collect

- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account, or basic profile data (name, email, avatar) returned by Google when you sign in with Google.
- Facility information: Business name, address, contact details, pricing, and images submitted by storage operators.
- Agent Search conversations: The questions you type into our AI assistant, the assistant's replies, any facilities you save, and thumbs up/down feedback. For signed-in users this is stored against your account; for guests it is stored locally in your browser.
- Usage data: Pages visited, search queries, browser type, IP address, and device information collected via cookies and analytics tools.
- Communication data: Messages sent through our contact form and enquiries submitted to operators.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our comparison service and Agent Search assistant
- Process account registrations and manage listings
- Respond to enquiries and support requests
- Analyse site usage and assistant quality to improve user experience
- Send service-related communications
4. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers
When you use Agent Search, your prompts and the relevant conversation history are sent to AI providers (including Google and Anthropic) via our hosted AI gateway so they can generate a reply. These providers process the data on our behalf as data processors and, under our agreements with them, do not use it to train their public models.
The agent may also pass your query (for example a postcode or town) to third-party search and content providers (such as Firecrawl) to look up publicly available operator pages on the web. We do not send your account email or password to any AI or search provider.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data under the following legal bases as defined by UK GDPR:
- Consent: Where you have given clear consent (e.g., cookies, marketing).
- Contract: Where processing is necessary for a contract with you (e.g., managing your listing or your account).
- Legitimate interest: Where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests (e.g., analytics, fraud prevention, improving Agent Search quality).
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Service providers who help operate our platform (hosting, authentication, analytics, payment processing, email delivery)
- AI and search providers used to power Agent Search, as described in section 4
- Storage operators when you choose to submit a quote enquiry to them
- Law enforcement or regulatory bodies where required by law
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy. Agent Search conversations and saved facilities are retained against your account until you delete them or close your account. Guest conversations are stored only in your browser's local storage and can be cleared by signing out, clearing site data, or deleting individual chats.

- Request erasure of your data, including your account and all Agent Search history
- Object to or restrict processing
